It all started because of a wall.
Yes, a wall. I was tired of staring blankly at a wall after I was done with “today’s”, “tomorrow’s” and “many more” days of work. So, I decided to start a blog and it had evolved in a mishmash site which followed me on my life’s journey over the years.
In 2023, I plan to extract my travel stories, tips and travel planning and consolidate them into this website, With a Knapsack on my Back.
Since I was a child, I have been travelling with my family on guided tours. Travelling without parents only started in University days when I went on adventures with my friends. The first time I experienced Solo “
Slow Travel” was when I was outstationed to Germany for work. Slow Travel was on the other side of the pole from the “bam, bam, bam, checklist ticked” kind of travel that I used to do. And, I enjoyed it.
I had the chance to fully explore Germany, a beautiful country which had never been high on my “travel to” priority list. That was the first time I had ever travelled solo, literally lugging with me a knapsack and a camera bag (and of course lots of snacks to make sure that I didn’t starve). Travelling solo gave me the chance to experience life, reflect on my past deeds (and misdeeds), take photo of everything (which include clouds and tree branches) and well, brave dangers on my own.
I had taken so many photos and written so many stories (mostly of my travel blunders) in my journals that they had piled up into 1 big crate! It’s now time to sort them out and share them with everyone. They are purely facts and not fictional.
I will be sharing my travel stories, travel itineraries and trip plannings in this travel blog. So travel with me on my journey and feel free to add your comments! I would also love to hear of your experiences and opinions!
Travel with me!
